Work Expereince and Background

Larry began his journey in the field of sleep medicine as a sleep trainee in June 2002 at American Wellness Diagnostics in Garland, Texas. Within a mere three months, he ascended to the role of Center Manager. By October of 2003, Larry's abilities led him to yet another promotion, this time as General Manager. He was then transferred to Athens, GA, tasked with overseeing all operations and spearheading expansion efforts to two additional Georgia locations.

In June 2004, Larry solidified his expertise by obtaining his RPSGT credential from the BRPT. His dedication and skillset caught the attention of Medcath, Corp. (Cardiac Specialty Hospital Group), and in February 2005, he joined them in Charlotte, NC as an Implementation Specialist. In this capacity, Larry traveled across the United States, working closely with partnered Cardiology groups to establish new startup sleep centers successfully.

Larry's career journey took him back to his hometown of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas in April 2006, where he assumed the role of Practice Manager for Children’s Medical Center Dallas. In his three and a half years there, he orchestrated remarkable growth, increasing monthly studies from 40 to 150, expanding bed capacity from 2 to 8, and implementing the inaugural Joint Commission recognized Disease Management program for Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea. His accomplishments were recognized nationally when his facility received First Place for the Best Facility in America in the 2009 National Sleep Achievement Awards.

In September 2009, Larry took on a new challenge as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Alliance Sleep Center, now known as Alliance Family of Companies. Under his leadership, the company expanded from a single sleep center to over ten locations spanning Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston areas.

In June 2013, Larry and his wife Shauna ventured out on their own, founding First Sleep, LLC. Additionally, he established First Sleep School, an approved College and Career School recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission, offering courses accredited by BRPT and providing online training for sleep professionals. Larry is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of sleep medicine to beginners and experienced professionals, He is a dynamic speaker known for his ability to break down even the most complex topics into easily understandable content.

Their innovative spirits led them to invent the patented neuro-diagnostic and sleep technology head measuring device, the 10-20 Tool. They launched the 10-20 Tool in January 2015. Larry also assumed the role of Vice-President of Operations for Sleep Medicine Associates of Texas in 2018, further cementing his impact in the field. Sleep Medicine Associates of Texas was purchased by Start Sleep & Wellness and Larry remained with the company as the Chief Financial Officer.

Throughout his 20-year career, Larry has led numerous accreditations, negotiated with insurance providers, managed multi-million dollar operations, and served as a mentor to countless sleep professionals. His dedication to advancing education in sleep technology earned him the Professional Development Service Award from the American Association of Sleep Technologists in 2022.

Under Larry's leadership, Children's Medical Center Dallas Sleep Disorder Center in Dallas, TX, secured the First Place - Best Facility award at the 2009 National Sleep Achievement Awards, presented by ADVANCE Newsmagazines. Larry spearheaded the team, guiding them towards excellence and setting a standard of quality care and innovation in the field of sleep medicine. His visionary leadership played a pivotal role in the center's success, making this achievement a testament to his dedication and expertise.
